So those reasons make May 8 — or the whole weekend if you want to take mom to the South Jersey Shore — a big day to celebrate.

Atlantic City’s casino hotels, restaurants and spas, dance floors and oyster bars provide mom or that special family member or friend with enough fun and relaxation to show exactly what how much they are appreciated.

Breakfast in bed at Bally’s

Surprise Mom with a beachfront getaway in one of this resort’s newest hotel rooms.Bally AC offers breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day weekend. As of Monday, rooms (starting at $339 plus tax) were only available Friday through Saturday. The package includes a late check-out at 1 p.m.

The breakfast in bed package includes pancakes, fresh fruit, home fries, breakfast meat, omelet, coffee, champagne and orange juice.

If Mother’s dinner is more your thing, there’s a Mother’s Day dinner package that includes dinner for two at Jerry Longo’s Meatballs and Martinis and overnight accommodation. This package starts at $219 per night.

Start Mother’s Day with Sunday Brunch

Another option is ttake mom to dinner at a Mother’s Day brunch in Atlantic City.

amada to Ocean Resort serves food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 8. Amanda offers a Spanish atmosphere with authentic Mediterranean dishes, offering dishes of paella pollo, ceviche, smoked salmon with pomegranate and gin. Brunch is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a made-to-order tortilla omelet station, pasta station, and La Mesa De Jose carving station.

The cost is $65 per person (plus taxes and fees).

the Claridge (has no casino but connects to Bally’s) offers a chance to “celebrate mom” with an à la carte brunch. The Mother’s Day Brunch will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Twenties restaurant. Brunch is unlimited, giving you plenty of time to spend with mom.

Caesars Atlantic City is home for Nero’s Sunday Brunch, offering panoramic ocean and beach views. Think raw bar, omelets, Nutella pancakes, and French toast stuffed with peaches and cream cheese. Accompany the dish with a Bloody Mary, a mimosa or a Bellini. All items are a la carte. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dinner for Mother’s Day weekend

Dinner for Mom offers a selection of Mother’s Day specialties at several casinos. Reservations are required at most.

At Vic & Anthony to Golden Nugget Casino, Hotel and Marina offers May 8 specialties such as individual paella with seared Hokkaido scallops, mussels, shrimp, chorizo, Calasparra rice with saffron, asparagus and spring onions. The cost is $75 per person.

by Lillie also offers a special menu for mom with either an 8-ounce Chilean sea bass in sweet and sour sauce or a soft-shell crab in salt and pepper. Specials are $48 per person.

To Resorts, Breadsticks the special Mother’s Day menu includes lobster gougères, grilled peach salad or bacon-wrapped scallops, and her choice of pork rib eye or Aussie perch Milanese followed by panna cotta a la strawberry and rhubarb for dessert, $39 per person.

Dougherty’s Steakhouse at Resorts offers a daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. at Raw Bar. Happy hour offers $1.25 oysters, $1 clams, and half-price appetizers and drink specials.

Or you can follow the celebrity chef route to Harrah’s Resorthome for Gordon Ramsey Steak (the word is Beef Wellington is “legendary”) and by Martorano (the famous salad of meatballs and martorano or linguine and clams are among the popular dishes) are some possibilities.

Laughs, movies and contests

For fun and a good laugh, the Borgata comedy club (inside the music box) has a show at 7 p.m. on May 8. Larry Beyah, Anita Wise and Joe DeVito perform. Tickets are $12.26 each, plus fees.

Tropicana also has a Mother’s Day weekend with music, dancing and prizes.

For those who want to spend a day at the movies, head to The Quarter at the Tropicana. There are three screenings of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” on Mother’s Day. Sessions are at 2:30 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8 p.m.

To Tropicana Boogie Nights dance club, they play music from the 70s, 80s and 90s – but that’s not all. On May 7, there is a “Hot Moms Contest”. Winners will receive prizes.

Top off Mother’s Day with something sweet

When it’s time for a dessert for Mother’s Day, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino offer mother’s day cheesecake to Sugar factory.

New York Cheesecake is dipped in rich dark chocolate, topped with whipped cream, chocolate covered strawberries, raspberry macaroon and edible gold. Available May 7 and 8 for $21.
