Hard Rock Atlantic City celebrates Black History Month; ‘Wing Wars’ returns to Golden Nugget, more

Black History Month will be honored at Hard Rock Hotel Casino Atlantic City.

The pop and rock-themed gambling den sponsors a series of shows dubbed Pop-up exhibit at the African American Heritage Museum. This will be exhibited from February 17 to 20 at the entrance of Hard Rock live at the Etess Arena just inside the valet parking entrance.

A collaboration between Rock and African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jerseythe exhibition uses photos, videos and memorabilia to focus on two crucial aspects of black life in the 20and century:

The “Jackie Robinson: Steal home The exhibit depicts the life and career of the Brooklyn Dodgers legend who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier.

My Little Light: The Black Church studies the central role that religion has played in the lives of generations of African Americans.

Another gift is the Tour of Legendary Memoriesa QR code-based offering that showcases costumes, instruments, and more. belonging to giants such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, jimi hendrix and whitney houston which are permanently exposed to the casino.

On a more musical note, the casino organizes two paying events. On February 16 and 17, a musical review, On Kentucky Avenuewill be presented at sound waves place. The presentation is presented as a tribute to the legendary Harlem clubthe Northside nightclub that has hosted legends such as Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, billie holiday and Ella Fitzgerald (for tickets click here).

And on February 26, 16-Grammy-Award winner kirk franklin brings his “urban gospel” sound into the arena (tickets here).

The wing at the Golden Nugget

Chicken wings will be relieved and delighted to learn that for the first time in two years, the bacchanal of poultry in sauce called Wing Wars coming home to roost this weekend at Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

Sponsored by Atlantic City Weeklythe fifth edition of the fried taste orgy will take place on February 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bayside casino grand ballroom.

In all, 17 wing-slingers, including casino-based outlets like Chelsea Five Gastro Pub at Tropicana Atlantic City (Chicken Wings Sriracha-Honey with Smoked Blue Cheese)Lillie’s Asian cuisine (Golden Nugget; Sweet Chilli Wings) and Wicked & Holy (Ocean Casino Resort; Sriracha Agave Wings with The Big Dipper Sauce) will showcase their signature recipes.

The $30 admission fee allows guests to dip (chicken?) with unlimited access to booths at participating restaurants.

The festivities also include judging by a panel of experts as well as members of the public who can vote in the Eaters Choice Award competetion. Live music will be provided by Robert’s Basement and well-stocked cash bars will ensure there are plenty of hard, non-alcoholic drinks with which to wash down the main attractions.

Bally’s air conditioning is ready to launch the beers

There will be at least one new joint casino where you can drink brewskis this year. This would be the planned beer garden for which The Atlantic town of Bally recently received approval from the Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority.

According to The Atlantic City Pressthe 5,100 square foot saloon overlooking the promenade will replace Harry’s Oyster’s Bar on the expanse of lawn that separates what was once the Hotel Denis (now part of Bally’s) and the Great Wood Way. Removable glass walls will allow operations during the colder months of the year.

An opening date has not been announced.

Ocean AC flooded with “Super” drinks

And speaking of adult beverages, Ocean Casino Resort conjured up a quartet of specialty cocktails in honor of the “Big Game” (as a non-sponsor, the gambling den is legally prohibited from using the term “Super Bowl”). They are:

*Cincinnati Who Dey Margarita (silver tequila; orange liqueur; squeezed lime juice; orange juice; ice cream). $12

*Frozen Joe (dry gin; simple syrup; champagne).

*Los Angeles Kupp crashes (vodka; rum; gin; tequila; Triple sec; orange juice; strawberries).

*#99 (gin; Triple sec; lemon juice; Blue Curaçao).

In case you were wondering, the “Joe Icy” is a tribute to the bengals‘sporty bling-bling quarterback, Joe Burrowswhile the “#99”) greets the Rams‘ fearsome defensive lineman, Aaron Donald.

All four drinks are priced at $12 and will be available through February 13 at Sports betting at the ocean, Topgolf Swing Suite, Nola’s Bar & Lounge and Salon 1927.

Big success at the Nugget

A New Jersey man hit hard (do that YOOJE!) at the Golden Nugget. The ultra-lucky player identified only as David J. bet $6 on a spin of one Penny Monopoly Money Grab machine and was rewarded with a progressive jackpot of $2,839,342.89.
